Join College of Visual and Performing Arts alumna Rebecca Wahls (BFA, Theater, 2015), for a screening of her film, Him. Him is a feature-length ensemble comedy film about the final five contestants on a reality dating show.

When the final five contestants on a popular reality dating show discover an unsavory truth about their deceitful suitor, they are faced with a choice: play the TV network’s game, or take down both him and the producers who manipulated them into falling in love. With no access to the outside world, they revisit pivotal moments from their journeys as they struggle to come to a collective decision.

The film was shot over 17 days in Sedona, Arizona, in January 2023, and toured to festivals around the US in 2024. Him is directed, co-written, and co-produced by Rebecca Wahls (GMU - Theater ‘15). It stars Kira Omans (GMU - Theater ‘17) as "Jenna" and features the work of Eric Stenmark (GMU - FAVS ‘13) as VFX Supervisor, Noah Peterson (GMU - Theater ‘18) as 1st Assistant Director, and Keenan Gibson (GMU - Theater ‘18) as Production Assistant. Other exciting cast members include Troy Baker (The Last of Us; BioShock Infinite, Uncharted 4) as "Xav," Kyle Prue (1.2M followers, TikTok ) as "Greg," and Sydney Battle (Co-Host, "Diss and Tell") as "Savannah." The film will also be featured at the Ampersand International Arts Festival on Sunday, March 23, at the College of William & Mary in Williamsburg, VA, where co-writer and co-producer Tess Higgins graduated from in 2015.

Following the screening, Rebecca will participate in a question-and-answer session with the audience, moderated by Dean Rick Davis of the College of Visual and Performing Arts.

This event showcases Wahls’s work as a co-producer and director, partly funded by Wahls’s win of the 2024 Young Alumni Commissioning Award from George Mason’s College of Visual and Performing Arts Young Alumni Commissioning Project.

This event is free and open to the public, but registration is required.
