Artists in Conversation: Silkroad Resonance Circle (Community Jam)
Co-presented by the City of Fairfax and the Center for the Arts at George Mason University
Gather with Silkroad artists and fellow community members for an open, participatory jam rooted in the artists’ cultural practices. You’re welcome to bring an instrument to jam, engage through simple movement, or just sit back and enjoy as part of the shared experience. This community jam welcomes participants of all backgrounds and experience levels, and is offered in conjunction with the Silkroad Ensemble’s Mason Artist-in-Residence performance of Sanctuary: The Power of Resonance and Ritual on Sunday, March 22 at the Center for the Arts at George Mason University. In its fourth year in residence at the Center, the Grammy Award-winning Silkroad Ensemble creates music that engages difference, sparking radical cultural collaboration and passion-driven learning for a more hopeful and inclusive world. This complimentary event is also an open-to-the-public presentation of the Friends of the Center for the Arts Artists in Conversation Series.
