Hailed as one of New Zealand’s leading contemporary dance companies, Black Grace masterfully blends contemporary and Samoan dance genres to create innovative work that “crosses geographic and social boundaries, often with innovative flair and theatricality” (The Boston Globe). Founded in 1995 by acclaimed choreographer Neil Ieremia, the company has wowed audiences around the world—from Jacob’s Pillow Dance Festival to New York City’s Joyce Theater—with its explosive physicality and rich storytelling.Audiences won’t want to miss the “exhilarating, seemingly inexhaustible energy” (The New York Times) of this troupe in their return to the Center for the Arts.
