Ever wish to understand dance better? What to look for? What it means? What the choreographer intended? If so, then don't miss: DECODING DANCE
An entertaining, informative "Back-stage" exploration of five very different works of dance.
Former NYC Ballet dancer, Christopher d'Amboise hosts the evening of demonstration and performance. Pointing out steps to look at, common tricks choreographers use, devices like repetition, suspension, theme and variation, followed by the dancers performing the works live.
Featuring dancers from the New York City Ballet as well as George Mason School of Dance, we go behind-the-curtain illuminating the world of choreography and enhancing audiences' enjoyment and appreciation of all kinds of dance.
