This joint recital between Sebastian Perry (junior composition, oboe) and Nicholas Edwards (sophomore performance/music ed, oboe) will open with a pair of sonatas by Hindemith: Sebastian on the oboe sonata and Nicholas on the English horn sonata. Both Hindemith sonatas are in collaboration with Dr. Ina Mirtcheva-Blevins on piano. After a brief, 5-minute intermission, Nicholas will perform selections from Telemann's 12 Fantasies for Flute without Bass (TWV 40:2-13) on solo oboe. Next, Sebastian will perform “Chameleon Lament” by Alyssa Morris. Then, Nicholas will perform an English horn solo titled “Lament,” composed by Sebastian. The end to the recital will be an oboe/English horn duet called “The Balcony Scene” by Robert Stephenson, with Sebastian on oboe and Nicholas on English horn.
