The Film and Video Studies Welcome Back Ice Cream Social and Production Fair is open to all George Mason students and will be held on Friday, September 4th, 2026, in the CFA Lobby.

This event provides an opportunity for students across all majors to kick off the academic year by connecting with peers, enjoying free ice cream, learning about on-campus creative resources, and discovering how to get involved with student film sets.

During the fair, advanced directing students will pitch their upcoming film projects so that attendees can learn about the films being made this year. Students do not need to be Film majors to participate, and general sign-up sheets will be available for a wide variety of positions, including acting, camera, makeup, set design, producing, music, and editing.

Any student interested in working on a film set is encouraged to sign up, as filmmakers will refer to these sheets throughout the academic year whenever they need to contact and cast specific crew members or actors for their projects.
