Join Mason Arts Management Adjunct Professor and Alumnus, Ryan Braaten ('09), for an invigorating discussion exploring the key differences and overlaps between arts management and artist management, reframing familiar skills including budgeting, fundraising, marketing, and strategy through an artist-centered lens. Panelists will discuss how arts management training translates to strategy, revenue diversification, representation models, and long-term sustainability for individual artists, and what emerging arts professionals should understand about working with artists in today’s evolving arts economy.

Professor Braaten also serves as serves as Manager of Industry Relations at Berklee College of Music. Additional guest experts will include Vic Adebusola, Assistant Director of Programming and Engagement for George Mason University’s College of Visual and Performing Arts (CVPA), Mandy Beats, a former Teacher turned Music Manager, Songwriter and Vocal Artist; and Kathryn Callahan, Artist Manager at LoyalT Management with 9+ years of music and production management experience.
