Pulp Fictions: the stories we tell about paper / the stories paper tells us about ourselves Pulp Fictions explores the many stories paper can tell about our history, creativity, and everyday lives. Featuring manuscripts, letters, rare books, artists’ books, and archival materials from the Special Collections Research Center, the exhibit highlights paper as more than just a writing surface. It shows how paper has preserved knowledge, inspired art, shaped societies, and reflected human experiences. Even in today’s digital world, paper continues to be a powerful medium for storytelling, learning, and creative expression.

The Special Collections Research Center gallery is located on the 2nd floor of Fenwick Library on George Mason’s Fairfax campus and is open during library business hours.
